On the very next drive my wife got a player in scoring position. I immediately got the ball pack, passed it to the same player, and missed again! After the second goal kick, I once again got the the ball immediately and this time managed to score. I then responded by getting a player in scoring position and pressing the attack. Within the first four minutes my wife scored the first goal. For the most part the first half was a lot of back and forth in the midfield and ended with a 0-0 score. I was able to threaten her goal, but I never managed a shot attempt. The first half did not see a whole lot of action. My wife kicked off first, and I got a yellow card on my very first challenge. We played with 15 minute halves for a 30 minute game. The game is played to a real time time limit in halves. ![]() Two yellow cards equals a red card and ejection. It is possible to get a yellow card during a challenge if one player rolls a 1 and the other a 6. The result can be goal, corner kick, or goal kick, with goal being the most common. To shoot the player rolls a special D6 (or use a spinner). If the condition is met by running to an open ball, then the defense may challenge first before a shot is attempted. If one of these conditions are met with a direct pass, then a shot is made. To score a shot must be taken from within the penalty box (without being offsides) or one of two specially marked spots just outside the penalty box. When it is an open the ball the player who just had a ball rolls a die and attempts to get a player to the ball, the defender may then attempt to reach it or challenge. If a player does not successfully complete a pass, then the ball is open. If the defensive player wins, the ball changes possession. Defensive pawns get to add +1 to their roll. If a defender get to a space with the ball they challenge. Next, the defender gets to respond by rolling a die and moving a player that many spaces (following same rules). If the player with control of the ball is able to make a successful pass to another player on their team, they may immediately make another pass. The ball follows the same movement rules as players, except that it can move through the spaces of any players. Next, the player with the ball rolls the die again and that is how many spaces they can move the ball. Players can move through players on their own side, but not opposing pieces. Players can move in all directions, but they can only switch directions once (with no backtracking). The team with the ball first rolls a die (D6), and that team must move a player that many spaces. While kick offs and penalty kicks work differently, most of the game follows the same flow. Like Soccer there are 11 players per side. Soccer Tactics World is played on a gird board representing the pitch. So does this game get a red card or does it score a goooaaallll? That was fine, because Soccer Tactics World is what I was trading for. Since we do not really need two soccer games, we went ahead and ruled that one out. Actually this game bundled with Total Attack!! Soccer, but my wife saw the hex board and the ugly pieces. In the March math trade I finally managed to trade for this one. In previous math trades, I had attempted to trade for several soccer games that do that including StreetSoccer and Subbuteo. ![]() I tend to like games that seek to capture the feel of a sport as opposed to statistically simulate the sport.
